“Members,”
we need your help once again on this subject. We need you
to sign in at the Pro Shop every time you play so that our daily
and yearly records are correct.
ACTIVITIES OF THE MONTH
March 6 , NIGHT GOLF Let's have a great
turn out. We need you to let the Pro Shop know if you have
a team as soon as possible.
March 13 , KARAOKE NIGHT Let's find out
who can sing and who can't. We will have snacks available
for the night. The bar will be open for those who need a little
help to sing. Please call the Pro Shop and let us know that
you are coming so we can get a numbers count. I promise you
right now, I will not sing. It's going to be our first get
together for you, the members of Shallow Creek. See
you here.
March

benefiting Angel Network on every second Tuesday at 2:00 pm , shot

boys and girls. If you get a chance, come out and watch the future
of golf in action. Good Luck to all our juniors from our
area.

HERE'S
A NOTE FROM RON:
Ron Hughes is reminding all the homeowners that now is the time
to start thinking about that lawn. We are already seeing
the Bermuda greens up on the course. On or about March 15
would be a good time to apply a preemergent herbicide. This
will help control summer annual weeds such as Crabgrass and Goosegrass
. Around April 15, 2004 , would be a good time to make first
fertilizer application on Bermuda and St. Augustine . Delay
about a month on centipede. If you had that soil test done
last fall, it will be your guide on what type fertilizer to use.
In the absence of a soil teat, use a fertilizer where the
three numbers are in a 3-1-2 ratio, like 15-5-10 , or 18-6-12 .
Apply approx one pound of actual nitrogen per 1,000 square
feet. If I can be of assistance to anyone, please contact
me at the course. Ron
